There’s a new Korean BBQ place in Covent Garden called Soom, but I didn’t end up having BBQ.

WHY?

So my friend told me that there is a new Korean BBQ restaurant that opened and told me that they have Perilla Oil Buckwheat Noodles. I love it so much that my parents literally sent me several box of it from Korea.

So I went to try just that.

The first thing that stood out was the intention behind the space itself. The owner said he wanted people to feel like they could take a breather here, which is why the restaurant is called “Soom,” meaning “breath.”

Even the corners of the room are curved and round to make the space feel softer.

It’s a quiet detail, but you feel it almost immediately.

Looking Beyond the BBQ Menu

Most diners will notice the BBQ platters, fried chicken, and the usual Korean restaurant staples. But Soom also has dishes Koreans tend to search for including perilla oil buckwheat noodles.
